Kasku the Artist
I've painted as a hobby since my early 20s. I started by painting traditional figures from my Pacific Northwest Native heritage and evolved from there. After I retired to paint full time, I began to focus less on technical pieces and more on people.
I started to meet people where they were at. I saw and heard their stories and began to paint them. I paint the emotions behind the mask. I paint the moments of freedom and joy. I also paint the pain of grief, anger and isolation.
Sometimes people need just a moment of serenity or joy before they return to doing the hard things facing them. Sometimes others need to recognize those hard things. And people always need to know they are not alone.
