Welcome to Kasku Art. I am Kasku, a self-taught acrylic and digital artist who draws inspiration from my Native Tsimshian heritage.  Until very recently I worked full time which meant I had very little time to devote to my artistic endeavors.  After retiring, I became a full time artist and I’m happy to say my practice is maturing rapidly.  My contemporary style draws heavily on the traditional color palettes and restrained shapes of the Canadian Tsimshian Tribes of my heritage.  However, in addition to traditional artistic practices, I use a full range of colors and disconnect the traditional shapes from each other to create more flow and energy. Additionally, and probably most significantly, I paint human faces in contrast to the traditional focus on animals.
